# Build Apps for OrbitForms

> Create powerful integrations and extend OrbitForms's functionality with custom OAuth applications. Connect your services, automate workflows, and reach thousands of users through the OrbitForms marketplace.

## Get Started

> Learn how to build OAuth applications that integrate with OrbitForms's API securely.

## Quick Start Guide

Follow these steps to create your first OrbitForms integration:

**1. Open a free developer account**

Sign up at [orbitforms.ai/developer-signup](https://app.useorbitcrm.ai/developer-signup) and verify your email. You don't need an Orbit workspace or plan. Already use Orbit? Open **Developer portal** from your account menu and open a developer account with the same login. Orbit approves new accounts, usually within one business day.

**2. Get a workspace to test in**

Without an Orbit workspace, your developer account comes with a free [test workspace](https://docs.useorbitcrm.ai/apps/portal.md#test-workspace). With one, you install your app there: apps in development install into any workspace.

**3. Register a new OAuth application**

Set up your app in the Developer Portal.

**4. Configure permissions and redirect URIs**

Define what your app can access and where users are redirected.

**5. Implement OAuth 2.0 authentication flow**

Integrate the authorization code flow into your application.

**6. Submit your app for review**

Get your app reviewed and listed in the marketplace.

## What You Can Build

Create powerful integrations that extend OrbitForms's capabilities:

> Trigger workflows from form events

Every app connects over OAuth, reads and writes data through the [API](https://docs.useorbitcrm.ai/developers/api/overview.md) and receives [webhooks](https://docs.useorbitcrm.ai/apps/webhooks.md). When you register it you choose whether it should **also appear in workflows** as a step people can add to their automations; the form shows a preview, and the two options are compared on [Apps in Workflows](https://docs.useorbitcrm.ai/apps/workflow-actions.md). Once an app is approved it never goes offline for a change: additional scopes, additional redirect URIs and appearing in workflows go through a [change request](https://docs.useorbitcrm.ai/apps/app-review.md#changing-an-approved-app), everything else applies right away.
